![]() You could still have allies go in stealth mode like the vertical slice. ![]() After Halo 2 and Killzone 2, I had gotten hip to vertical slices. So what happened? Another Gearbox hellish development game, or is this one of the early examples of announcing a game to early and/or showing a presentation that was not realistically going to be feasible?Įhh I never bought that E3 scripted vertical slice as being what the actual game would play or look like. It ended up being a letdown for most, with reviews around 7.5 out of 10. The game played and looked nothing like the presentation mentioned above, and I myself felt dissapointed, even though I finished it. In the end the game suffered numerous delays and it ended up releasing in September 2008, almost 2.5 years since it's original announcement. Still though, it shows how the game played and how amazing it was for that time of 2007. I've searched for a long time to find a decent quality video of this presentation but I could only find a horribly compressed 360p file on Youtube. So a trailer or 2 dropped and I was getting really starting to get pumped and then Ubisoft showed the game for the first time at their own event, which they had back then, Ubidays in 2007. Hell's Highway was going to be the first Brothers in Arms game for the new consoles Xbox 360 and PS3 and I was even more excited because the campaign would take place during Operation Market Garden, in my home country the Netherlands. After the very stellar Brothers in Arms Earned in Blood I was happy that Gearbox announced their new Brothers in Arms game in March 2006. There is one game in particular I was really excited about iirc. So much so that I started thinking about all the games I played years ago that I loved.
